Pilot Electro Technical Officer (ETO) Cadet Training Programme
In 2026 we are partnering with FOUR esteemed maritime training institutes in the Philippines: United Marine Training Centre (UMTC) in Manila, GigaMare in Subic Bay, Magsaysay in Cavite and Nautilus Pacific Maritime Training Centre in Manila. These institutes are renowned for their excellent facilities, experienced instructors, and a strong track record of producing high-quality ETOs.
Programme Overview:
Duration: 4.5-month academic semester followed by a minimum of 8 months onboard training.
Eligibility: Electrical Engineering graduates or those with degrees in related fields such as Electronics and Communications Engineering, or Industrial Technology with a major in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation.
Sponsorship: All cadets will be sponsored on day one by an IMEC Member participating in the programme.
Training Details:
Academic Training: The course includes both theoretical and practical elements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the ETO role.
Onboard Training: Cadets will complete a Training Record Book (TRB) during their shipboard training.
IMEC is committed to supporting the maritime industry’s evolving needs by heavily subsidising the training costs for 120 ETO cadets in 2026. This initiative is a response to significant demand from our members, the success of the 2025 programme and the increasing electrical complexity of modern vessels.
